Odd socks you cry. What is this? Well it used to be ‘ The Inner Blogger’, then a follower gave me the suggestion of changing it to odd sock and my god I love it. Just to recap, Odd Socks is a series where I ask fun and intriguing questions to other bloggers so we can get to know them away from your typical blog questions.
Today’s guest is RuthinRevolt. A lot of you will know who this gem of a person is but in her own words this is her and her amazing blog.
“I’m Ruth, I’m 27 and I live in Aberdeen with my boyfriend and my cat. I love typewriters, collect Dr Martens and could probably live on bourbon biscuits. My blog is about a bit of everything right now! I write about my life, but I try to always keep in mind how my words and posts can be useful to others. I share blogging tips sometimes, too, when I see a lot of people struggling with something.”
It’s an honour to have her on my blog. She is the kindest person you will meet and was lucky to have her as the first person I met when I started. So drumroll please, let’s get into the questions.
1. I am a huge fan of you and your blog. So tell me about the day you decided you wanted to be a blogger?
That’s very kind of you, thank you! The day I decided to start a blog was a couple of weeks after I had been diagnosed with anxiety and depression. I felt a strong need to share my story, because I hoped it would help others to open up about their own experiences and get some help. Plus, I was starting to think a little clearer and had a little bit of confidence in myself. People had often told me they liked my writing, so I thought I’d put it out there and let strangers be the judge. I guess part of me thought it would give me a boost to know other people liked my writing (if they did), not just my nearest and dearest. It could have gone either way, I suppose, but it’s been a positive experience up to now.
2. What is your favourite childhood cartoon?
I didn’t actually watch a lot of cartoons when I was younger – not that I can remember, anyway. But I’d have to say either Hey Arnold or Arthur.
3. Why is a raven like a writing desk?
Something to do with producing a few notes?
4. What is film is the one you most relate to/ want to be?
Hmmm… this is a very tough question! I’m going to say Perks of Being a Wallflower, for both parts of the question, really. I’d probably describe myself as a wallflower, so I can relate to Charlie’s character in that respect, but I’m still working on getting out of my comfort zone.
5. What’s your biggest pet peeve?
I’m sure it’s a pretty common one but bad manners.
And finally odd socks, yes or no?
Thank you so much Ruth for joining me today. Had such fun reading your answers and doing this. Hope to work more in the future with you.
I thoroughly recommend following her and reading her blog. Links are :
